Believe God Into Rest

Unbelief is negatively potent to the degree of denying us what God has planned and settled from the foundation of the earth. It is better to blindly believe God than to doubt or exhibit any trace of unbelief. God called Moses to lead Israel out of Egypt to a promise land, a place of rest and not into the wilderness. Unfortunately their unbelief terminated the journey of a substantial number of them and their bones were scattered in the wilderness. “But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.” (1 Cor.10:5). For forty years, the Lord endured with them but they choose to remain in their unbelief and their bones littered the wilderness till date “. . . . whose carcass fell in the wilderness?” (Heb. 3:17) whereas they were meant for the rest of God-The Promised Land! Joseph dared to believe even to the point of death and his bone was never left in Egypt, it rested in the promised land!

The writer of Hebrew painfully noted with great concern that the works and invariably our rest had been completed and ready for possession since the foundation of the world. “For only we who believe can enter his rest. As for the others, God said, “In my anger I took an oath: ‘They will never enter my place of rest,’” even though this rest has been ready since he made the world.”
‭‭(Heb.‬ ‭4:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬). God was not trying to secure the rest, it was secured ever before they came to the brink of the promise land! The Amalekites nor Canaanites were not his problem but their unbelief.

Beloved, the issue will never be with the ailing economy, neither with lack of physical cash nor great health but our inability to trust God and take him at his word. “For we which have believed do enter into rest,. .” Heb.4:3. If you do not want your bones scattered along the path of the wilderness of life, it is time to believe God against all odds. Keep your focus on him in spite of insufficient funds in your retirement plan, hopelessness that pervades our time, violence and insecurity of life and property, renewed level of aggression and terrorist activities of our time. For only those who will believe in spite of all odds that will enter into his rest. Remember his rest has been secured for us since the foundation of the world and it is glorious.

TODAY if ye will hear his voice, do not harden your hearts, as in the provocation when they provoked him by their unbelief and evidently they could not enter into their rest (Heb.3:19).
