Immorality: How Are The Mighty Fallen!

“How are the mighty fallen! Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets. . . lest the daughters of the uncircumcised (agents of darkness) triumph” (2 Samuel 1:19-20) – paraphrased.

The mighty are indeed falling and there is no better time to raise the guard than now. It has graduated from “a one-of thing” to a collection of confessions and “stepping downs” from a God-given height of success. In the Bible days, it was Reuben, David, Samson, and in our days the list includes Ted Haggat, Ed Long, the late Zachery Tims. What should we expect tomorrow especially with the advent of unlimited grace and eternally saved gospel where all cautionary measure has been eliminated and thrown into the wind? If the Church fails to rise against this challenge, then we better be prepared for the worst!

Is there no balm in Gilead or has Calvary lost its power to keep children of God from this killer of our time? Where is the anointing of Joseph that despise the momentary pleasure of sin choosing rather to fear God? Where is the anointing of Jehu that despise Jezebel the mother of all seduction? Accountability partner is a reasonable approach and an excellent solution method, but did the scripture not say the anointing is able to teach us all things- that we need to do? (1Jn.2:26,27) No doubt about, the scripture is very clear, let him that thinks he stand take heed, and for emphasis, take heed again, lest he falls. This warning couldn’t have been more relevant at any time in the life of the Church (and her history) than now.

Barrage of near nude and whore-like outfit has taken over the advert world and has finds its way into Church auditoriums and recently on the altars too. The enemy’s intention is clear: let imaginations run wild and prepare the ground for that opportunity and that man will fall! Hear this loud and clear: the devil is a liar If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature. . . .behold (see, it is visible) all things are become new (no longer operating by the dictate of my human nature but by the spirit). (2 Cor. 5:17)
